1. Brush your teeth, floss, scrape your tongue, and whiten your teeth. No need to feel self-conscious when you flash your pearly whites. This is both more important, and less important than you think. While looks aren’t as important to women as most men think, it’s the signs that a man takes care of himself that impress a woman most.

2. Walk tall. Imagine a string is pulling from the top of your head, and lifting you off the ground, so you almost float along as you walk. This is a trick that comes from the Alexander Technique.

3. Have some pictures ready to show. You can use these to remind yourself of stories that you can tell. And you can let the other person take the lead by asking you about pictures that interest them. If you’ve got an iPhone or a blackberry, or something like that, you can store pictures on your device and have them ready to show as you’re getting to know a girl.

4. Be warmly dominant. One great way to do this is to hire them. If they show some value by telling you about one of their skills, tell them you should hire them to do that thing for you. This sets the frame that you’re the big man, and their skills are there to help you.

5. Flirt at any time. Does the woman ahead of you in the checkout line at the grocery store have 11 items in a 10 item line? Give her a hard time about it. Does the little old lady need some fun? Flirt with her. You don’t have to flirt only with women you’re interested in. It helps to get all the practice you can get.

6. Try mirroring the other person subtly. If they play with their hair, play with yours. If they tap their foot, tap yours. If they reach for their drink, reach for yours. Don’t be too obvious, though. We like those who are like us.
